The Brownie was designed for the 1924 Lympne Light Aircraft Trials. This was the second of three examples built, and differed from the first in having a metal wing. This one was withdrawn from the trials because of aileron flutter, but later flew with the Bristol & Wessex Aeroplane Club at Filton. Photo claimed to be from the Paris Air Show by an American press agency, year not stated. However, this looks suspiciously like Filton whereas the Paris Air Show was held indoors, so the photo was probably handed out by Bristol at the show.
