Accepted by the USAF in August 1966 as an HC-130P, seeing operations in Southeast Asia and throughout the Pacific for much of its career. In 1993, the 9th SOS received the aircraft at Eglin AFB, but 65-0994 returned to Asia in 1995 when assigned to the 17th SOS at Kadena, Japan. Redesgnated as an MC-130P 'Combat Shasdow' after mods in 1996, it was back with the 9th SOS in 2009 and participated in the closing stages of Operation Iraqi Freedom. From 2010 to 2012, it deployed to Afghanistan multiple times as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
