A non-standard 311 badge is furnished on the tail of the F-16A. This Fokker built Fightning Falcon (FMS serial 80-3618, with Fokker construction number L-101) was delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht with on 20 June 1982. It only lived for some ten years as the F-16A experienced engine problems during a low-level training sortie some 120 miles south of Goose Bay, Newfoundland (Canada) on 26 May 1992. The pilot ejected safely from the aircraft. This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
