On static display at Spirit of St. Louis Air Show 2024. The F4U Corsair on the tail represents VMF-323 "Death Rattlers" that was commissioned on 1 Aug 1943 at MCAS Cherry Point. The unit was involved in intense fighting across the Pacific in WW2, producing several aces. VMFA-323 turned in its F-4 Phantoms in 1982 to transition to the F/A-18A Hornet.
