Delivered to the RAF as a MR2 on 08 Mar 1954. Converted to an AEW2 in 1972 and delivered to 8 Squadron who's markings it is preserved in. WFU some time after 1982 and allocated ground serial 8772M. Later transferred to the Museum of Science and Industry. Avro were a local company based in Manchester. All 8 Squadron Shack's carried a cartoon character from the children's television programme 'The Magic Roundabout' on their nose.
