The "Waterbomber" titles on the rear fuselage were applied because this aircraft regularly gave impressive waterbombing demonstrations at various airshows in the 1990s. Il-76s can easily be configured for waterbombing operations. This Ilyushin was eventually written off at Pointe Noire, Congo Republic on 10 May 2007, when it caught fire during loading.
