By 3/53: TOS USAF. The plane spent its career as a test bed, being first assigned to the USAF Air Development Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH and used for terrain signals and photo-reconnaissance work. 1965: Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA. 1967: ADC, Wright-Patterson AFB; redesignated JB-47E and a fly-by wire system was installed. 1969: Landed at Wright Field; placed in storage for the Air Force Museum. 8/71:Placed on display. 2003: Removed from display. 9/12 to 1/13: Disassembled and shipped in sections to the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History in Albuquerque, NM.
