On August 29th 2007, 47 Sqn Hercules XV205 landed heavily at night on a rough airstrip in the Afghan desert. It was badly damaged and could not be recovered. Subsequently some equipment was removed and the aircraft was destroyed by UK Special Forces. This photo is copyright © Shaun Connor, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
