10 Apr 1953: TOS USAF as B-47E. March/54: 43rd Bombardment Wing, Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. May/56: 96th Bomb Wing, Altus AFB, OK. December/57: 380th Bomb Wing, Plattsburg AFB, NY. 8August/61: 96th Bomb Wing, now based at Dyess AFB, TX. January/53: Converted to WB-47E. May/63: 55th Weather Squadron, McClellan AFB, CA. March/66: 53rd Weather Squadron, Hunter AFB, GA. June/66: Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico. July/66: SOC and ferried to the New England Air Museum, Bradley Airport, Windsor Locks, CT. 3 Oct 1979: Damaged when a tornado struck the airport. Repaired using strut and engines from 53-6244. 2002: To Hill AFB, UT for display. Info from July 2025 is that this aircraft was scrapped in June 2021.
