Registered -4 June 1948. While on a local flight from Southend on 16 March 1958, it collided in mid-air with Auster 5 G-APAH (also airborne from Southend) over Danbury, Essex and crashed at Butts Green, West Hanningfield, Essex and was destroyed, killing the passenger. The pilot died later from his injuries. (The Auster landed safely in a field near Sandon, Essex and is still registered today, albeit with Permit expired -4 October 2021). G-AKKI was cancelled -9 May 1958 as 'Destroyed'. This photo is copyright © Mike Cain, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
