This PZL-Mielec M-18A Dromader was imported to Canada in June 1995 by Hicks & Lawrence Ltd. of St. Thomas, ON. Mervin Hicks partnered with Thomas Lawrence in 1950 to establish a crop spraying business in 1950. The Hick & Lawrence spray aircraft fleet was sold to the Supermarine Aircraft owned by the Martindale family in 2001 which operated a total of 21 different M-18s between 2001 and 2020, including C-FVYH which was exported in October 2020. The M-18s were mostly flown on seasonal forest spraying contracts battling spruce budworm infestations in eastern Canada. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
