First with the USAF as 49-3071, this Texan went to the Armée de l'Air in 1957. It was used for counter insurgency (COIN) operations in North Africa before retired. Acquired by Ejército del Aire in 1965 with serial E.16-195. Struck off strength in July 81, it was sold to Combat Aircraft Inc, Elkhart, IN as N2996Q in May 1982. Pictured arriving at AirVenture 2017, the aircraft suffered an accident landing at Chesapeake, VA on December 5, 2017. No injuries, but it veered off the runway and flipped over. The registration later expired and was officially cancelled on February 28, 2020. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
