East Midlands Airport was opened in 1965 and well into the 1970s it was the domain of the turboprop with very few pure jet visitors. It was a very quiet airport and the scene here would have been considered busy with two Court Line 1-11s present, the second being G-AXMI. Also evident are Navajo G-AZUH, HS125 G-AYER and an FAA Convair 240, a regular visitor, N95
