The very first aircraft for the Swedish air force was this Nieuport IV. It was bought in 1912. At first it was serialed M1 with just a Swedish flag on the fin. Later it became just '1' and presumably received the three crowns markings. This photo is copyright © Joop de Groot, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
