Built by Boeing as a CH-47A with serial 65-07977, this Chinook was accepted by the US Army on 7 January 1966. It was converted to CH-47D with serial 85-24366 in October1985 and redelivered on 30 September 1986. The Chinook was again converted from June 2006, this time to Foxtrot. It received serial 06-08025 and returned to service on 29 September 2007. It deployed (unkamrked) with the Bravo company of the 3-82nd AVN, based at Fort Bragg (NC) to Afghanistan.
