PH-AKD was taken out of service by KLM in december 2021. The airplane went to Jakarta and Woensdrecht for heavy maintenance and a gear change. However in early 2022 a new lease deal was signed and the airbus was send to Dublin for a new paintjob. Just before the start of S22 schedule the airplane returned to the skies flying for KLM in blue. The A330-300 are used of flights to Canada, Africa and the Middle East. This 'extra' A330 was taken up because of the long delays in B787-10 deliveries by Boeing.
