4/45: TOS USAAF with s/n 44-83575. Converted to B-17H for SAR with 1st Air/Sea Rescue Squadron. 1948: Redesignated SB-17G. Later assigned to MATS. 1952: Used as a static test target for nuclear tests at Yucca Flats, NV. 5/65: Aircraft Specialties, Mesa, AZ, with c/r N93012, and rebuilt. 1977: Converted for fire-fighting. 1985: Bob Collings of Collings Foundation; ferried to Kissimmee, FL for restoration to full military configuration, making its first post-restoration flight in July 1986. 2 Oct 2019: Crashed at Windsor Locks, CT.
