3 Apr '45: TOS USAAF as 44-83546; placed in storage. 1946: Converted to CB-17G; assigned to ATC, San Francisco and later to Bolling Field, DC. Jan 1948: 501st Air Service Group, Wiesbaden. 13 Oct '48: SAC, Offutt AFB, NE; converted to a VB-17G; 3902nd Air Base Group, Offutt. Ca.1951: Fighter Command, 5th AF, Japan, assigned to their C.O. Oct 1954: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ. 30 July '59: Began civil life. Converted as fire-fighting tanker. Sep 1982: David Tallichet, Military Aircraft Restoration Corp. 1988 to 1989: Fully restored as Memphis Belle and flown to England for the movie.
