There was one prototype plus eight production aircraft built of the L-39V (V for Vlečná - tug), a single-seat target tug version for Czechoslovakia, that was equipped with a 1,700 m (5,600 ft) cable to tow a KT-04 target. This example was TOC in 1976 with the 1st Air School Regiment, retired in December 1992 and now on display at the super Muzeum Letecké a Pozemní Techniky. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
