Incredible to think the first flight of the Chinook took place on 21 Sept 1961 and it is still going strong. Flying past on the 89th Air Force Day at Hindon AFS, this Chinook of 126 HF "Featherweights" easily carries an underslung M777A2 155mm Ultra-Light Howitzer (ULH) of the Indian Army that weighs 4200 kg and can fire the M982 Excalibur PGM artillery shell. Inducted on 25 March 2019 at Chandigarh, this heavy-lift, multi-mission helicopter has already proved its worth in India's Himalayan regions.
