Built in 1935, and restored by its owner Snr Gavazzi over six years and over 10,000 man hours between 1985 and 1991, I-ABOU is the only restoration to airworthy condition of any pre-war Italian aircraft and the worlds oldest airworthy floatplane. In the mid 1930s the seaplane base on Lake Como was home to the Reale Unione Nazionale Aeronautica (RUNA) who operated 15 of the type, including I-ABOU
