This is RCAF B-25J 5273 (carried on the left fin), fitted with the right fin of KL144. This Mitchell was obtained from the USAF in 1953 (ex 44-30791) and flew for the Canadians until it was struck off charge on 7 October 1960. The aircraft became a spares source and ended its days on a farm near Lamont, Alberta. The remains were rediscovered and transported to the Alberta Aviation Museum in April 2002. Restoration work started in 2004, part of which was the adding of that right tail fin of RCAF Mitchell Mk.II KL144 (c/n 100-23345).
