XH481 flew 18,500km non-stop from RAF Scampton to RAAF Richmond in 20 hours refuelling from Valiant tankers stationed along the route. It is seen here departing for RAAF Edinburgh. The return flight to the UK made regular fuel stops at RAF stations. XH481 was withdrawn from use in 1968 and scrapped in 1977.
