This was the first Chipmunk registered in Australia, being imported for DHA in 1947 as VH-BFT. In 1948 it was loaned to the RAAF and the following year sold to the Newcastle Aero Club. Re-reg VH-RNG when the Club got the prefix 'Royal' in 1953. In 1959 re-reg to VH-BBF, then VH-MCC a few months later. Withdrawn for rebuild 1994 - first post-restoration flight on 15 Dec 2010.
