Arriving in Vancouver by trailer, this Transwest Helicopters Hughes H369HS was fighting fires on August 21, 1981 near Birkin, BC. Returning to refuel, the pilot twice found the refueling area busy. Checking the fuel gauge, it was decided to do another water drop each time, but the engine flamed out on the last one. During the autorotation to land, power lines had to be avoided and the rotor rpm decayed, resulting in a heavy landing. The helicopter (remains?) were sold in the USA as N2685Y with that registration cancelled in September 1988.
