On this day the Lake Boga Flying Boat Museum officially opened its new hangar, built to house this Catalina. This aircraft is painted as RAAF A24-30 but it is in fact a composite aircraft put together from hulks found at various farms in Australia. The fuselage is from RAAF A24-38 cn 1097 (formerly an instructional airframe at Lake Boga), the cockpit section from Dutch Navy Catalina Y-72 or Y-76, and the wings are from an unidentified PBY-4.
