Originally delivered to National Airlines in 1952 as N8223H, this DC-6 also served with Pan Am, FB Ayer, Northeast, and Gary Aircraft before joining Air Djibouti as F-OCYJ in 1974. In 1976 she went to International Freight Airways as OO-IFA. Two years later, she became N799TA with Atlas. The she went to Interocean as 9J-AEP before sold to Urban Drew as N84AU in 1979 and joining Air Swaziland in 1982. In 1986 she was sold to Flying Enterprises and leased to Interocean again. Wfu at Lanseria in 1989 and scrapped the following year. The nose section is preserved with the SAA Museum at Rand. This photo was added on 6 August 2021, and has since been viewed 257 times. |
