This Hoplite was built in December 1974 and flown by the border guard division of the Polish AF. After decomissioning it was bought by a family in southern Germany as a playhouse for the grandchildren. It was seen by gallery owners, who brought the machine to Munich and had it painted by street artists. The 'work of art' was exhibited at the Berlin Art Salon 2009, the Urban Art Fair Munich 2009 and Art Karlsruhe 2010 before it arrived in Bernried in 2014. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
