This 727 was originally delivered to Eastern in December 1976 and then joining Delta in November 1991. In May 2004 it was placed with Nationwide Airlines as ZS-PIL as a spares source as by November it was stored at Lanseria (HLA) in basice Delta markings but minus engines.
