Although designed for shipborne use, the Ar 196 saw use in coastal Lutwaffe units around Europe, and in the far north of Finland and Norway a small unit called the Sumpfnotdienst (swamp rescue service) used the floatplane for rescue, ambulance and occasional infiltration flights. Here an Ar 196A-4 brings a doctor for the 324th Infantry Regiment, likely at the Verman River front. Photo from my new Osprey book on the Arado Ar 196.
