This DC-10 was originally delivered to KLM in February 1973 but the airline operated it on behalf of Viasa in 1980 and Ghana Airways in 1981. The plane was returned back to McDonnell Douglas as N533MD in August 1994 and then leased in April 1996 to Kras Air followed by a move to Continental as N14090 in July 1997. It was withdrawn from the fleet in November 2000, ferried to Mohave (MHV) and subsequently scrapped.
