VH-TSG was a hybrid aircraft, its fuselage built in the UK and shipped to Australia where locally made wings were fitted. Msn DHA8 was applied to the wings and the aircraft delivered to the RAAF as A17-8. It was disposed of in 1946 but it would be 11 years before it was registered as VH-RAW with the spurious msn DHC78, a corruption of the RAAF serial. It became VH-TSG in 1965. The aircraft crashed into the sea off South Stradbroke Island when its left wings failed during aerobatics. "Lovely!" was a pizza restaurant.
