Bulit as a Douglas C-47-DL in Long Beach, California on Dec 6, 1942. Delivered to the US Airforce on Dec 19, 1942 as 41-19465. Aircraft was named Cold Turkey. Went to Qantas Empire Airways Ltd. at Brisbane Airport and entered the Australian register as VH-AEU July 11 1944.
