An impressive line up of DC-3s from Qantas, Mandated and Patair. The occasion is believed to be the first Goroka Show, an event organised by Australian administrators to bring harmony between the warring tribes of the Eastern Highlands. The show continues but is now held to coincide with Independence day in September. It draws international crowds wanting to experience the colourful cultures of Papua New Guinea.
