On 31 December 2020, the Ejército del Aire (EdA, Spanish Air Force) officially ceased operations with the Lockheed Hercules. The tanker/transporter has been operated by Ala de Transporte 31 (Ala 31) at Zaragoza air base since 1974. Here one is seen during its take-off from Kabul during an operational deployment to Afghanistan. On 29 Dec 2020 this Herc arrived at Cuatro Vientos, for display at the Museo del Aire.
