Check Your Six. It wasn't the bogey from behind that downed this T-28 in November of 1985--it was installing the wrong spark plug wiring harness. Witnesses reported black puffs of smoke and backfiring sounds on the takeoff roll, and the aircraft crashed into a swampy area just after leaving the ground at Lantana, Florida.
