The 2nd squadron of the NEI army's Aircraft Group V was sent to Singapore in December 1941. The Brewster fighter wears the squadron's smart Javan rhinoceros badge in front of the cockpit. The pilot is thought to be the commanding officer, Capt Jacob Pieter van Helsdingen, rather than Lt Guus Deibel.
