This unknown Huey has been a ground trainer at the Hemet-Ryan airtanker base since at least 2003. It is generally quoted as UH-1F c/n 7108 (ex N490DF, 66-1212) or UH-1H c/n 12375 (ex N490DF, 70-15765). But it is neither. It is a long cabin, so a UH-1D or UH-1H and definitely not a UH-1F, and UH-1H N490DF c/n 12375 was still operational with Cal Fire by 2018.
We only know for a fact that in 2003 this ground trainer still carried "Vina Helitack" titles, and tanker number 205. So it is a UH-1D or UH-1H that operated as "Copter 205" for the Vina Helitack before 2003. Suggestions welcome!
