Delivered to the US Army as 58-1694, this Otter went to Vietnam in 1963. Placed in storage at Vung Tau for disposal in 1971, it was among 5 Otters donated to Nicaragua. Damaged landing in the jungle in 1976, it was recovered in 1979 and with another wrecked Otter, shipped to Miami as scrap. They were trucked to Duncan, BC where parts were used to rebuild Otter 288. Photographed here on the way to Boeing Field to be rebuilt, it was flying as N8510T by 1982 and had a turbine conversion in 2007 This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
