This F-4E was initially deployed to George AFB, CA from 1968-1971. In 1971, it was transferred to Bitburg AB in West Germany for around five years before returning stateside as a training/test frame, most recently at the USAF Test Center in Eglin, Florida. In 1989 it was ferried to the USAF base at Spangdahlem in Germany, where it was used as a ground trainer until it was decomissioned in 1992. It is seen here on display at the Deutsches Museum - Flugwerft Schleissheim, but it has moved to Krakow (PL) since. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
