Wearing the markings of 74 Squadron, TE311 is the latest Spitfire to join the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. After playing the part of a Mark I Spitfire in the movie "Battle of Britain", TE311 was displayed as a static exhibit by the RAF at airshows and events up and down the UK until 1999. Destined for spares recovery at Coningsby, it was then decided that a re-build to flying condition was possible and it took to the air again on 19 October 2012 after being grounded for 58 years.
