Unlike many Fokker triplane reproductions, Mikael Carlson's Dr.I feels like a real WWI war machine. It has an authentic rotary engine, albeit a Le Rhône, and even comes with machine gun sound. It is painted as an aircraft flown by Lt Johann Janzen, a Jasta 6 ace, in February 1918. This photo is copyright © Peter de Jong, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
