One of 57 Douglas M-1 to M-4 Mail Planes built in 1926/27. This example served Western Air Express. Each variant was powered by the 400 hp Liberty engine and could carry up to 1900 lbs of mail. This is the only survivor. This photo is copyright © R.A.Scholefield, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
