After the success of the Let L.410 twin engine turboprop in the late 70s, Aeroflot requested a possible replacement for its An-24 aircraft. However, the collapse of the Soviet Union left the project vulnerable and attempts to 'Westernise' the plane were unsuccessful. Only eight aircraft were built (6 flying and 2 for structural tests). This unfinished frame was intended for Czech AF but is now on display at the Letecké Muzeum Kunovice. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
