This 1910 Bristol Boxkite replica was built by F. G. Miles Engineering Ltd for the famous 1965 film 'Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines'. It was called 'The Phoenix Flyer' in the film. Later with the Shuttleworth Collection in airworthy condition. Originally it had no registration, so the British Aviation Preservation Council assigned identity BAPC.2 to it. In 1981 the CAA insisted on having a civil registration assigned and it became G-ASPP then. This photo is copyright © Alex Christie, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
