Photographer's Remark

The prorotype of the Dewoitine D.332 series, seen on a demonstration visit to Schiphol. The terminal building in the background has been reconstucted at the Aviodrome in Lelystad. The aircraft, called Émeraude, made a proving flight on the Paris - Saigon route in December 1933 but it crashed on the final leg near Corbigny in France in a snowstorm on 15 January 1934. The main variant was the D.338 which had a rectrable landiing gear and was 3 metres longer still! Photo from: Amsterdam City Archives
