First flown in June 1919, the metal Junkers F13 was one of the first real airliners. No aircraft could look more like a Meccano toy plane, but have a good look and see how advanced it actually was for its day. The aircraft shown here was delivered to Afghanistan in 1928 and by 1937 it served with the Afghan Air Force. In 1968 it was recovered from a scrapyard in Kabul and donated to the museum. It's been on display here since 1984. The real D-366 was c/n 723. This photo was added on 28 July 2017, and has since been viewed 479 times. |
