Regione Piemonte started operating HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Services) and Mountain SAR in 1988. At the beginning of 2000s AB-412s were the workforce and 118 was the well known emergency call phone number. This helicopter landed close to my home in the free area of a construction site for a HEM service, following a dramatic motorbike accident in my street. Sadly the same helicopter get lost in the sea two months later, killing the crew.
