Under a new serial system this Flying Life Boat became V115 in October 1934, shortly before CGAS Salem opened. From 1933 to 1936, the Coast Guard's aircraft also wore names of stars, and the absence of its name Arcturus would date this photo from 1936. The type was retired in August 1941.
