By far the largest piece of military equipment preserved in this memorial park is the C-119. It is actually too big to really fit these surroundings. The squadron badge has been reapplied to the nose but there were no unit markings on the tail. Alternate serial 52-5844 appeared not to have been applied in the repainting either.

Two aircraft are preserved in this historical park in Jiji, Nantou, Taiwan.

Sadly, the interior of this impressive plane has been heavily mistreated. The huge amount of space in the Flying Boxcar's front office is still evident, though - and the Fairchild pedals still rock.

Long after having visited this location, did I learn that this specific C-119 had been a navigation trainer with two (extra) astrodomes in the rear fuselage. The openings in the ceiling to the domes where sextants could be used by trainees can be seen here. The standard astrodome is logically located just behind the flight deck. The lack of respect for this airplane's interior is rather obvious.

Three Taiwanese Starfighters have been reported with these serials, two of them being preserved F-104Js. The real 4303 / 62-12252 was an RF-104G, last seen operational in the early 1990s. This one's real ROCAF identity is 4506 / 36-8565, the latter also being its original JASDF serial.

Proudly displaying clear markings, this is actually a bit of an imposter. It is one of two F-104Js marked as a former RF-104G. Built by Mitsubishi for the JASDF as 36-8565, it was withdrawn from use in Japan in January 1984 and obtained by the ROCAF as 4506 in 1987. Its service life ended around 1996 and it was moved here shortly after the turn of the century.
